Greetings from Namibia and a few updates and information about the BIG campaign here in Namibia:

The German Journal ‘Brandeins’ has done a ‘follow-up’ article on the BIG pilot project. The article provides a short background and sums up the positive results of the BIG pilot project. It also highlights the decision of the BIG Coalition to continue with the Bridging Allowance for the people in Otjivero, but also reports about the financial challenges the project faces currently and the urgency of a new fundraising campaign. Mr. Bonifaze Mabanza, from our partner organisation KASA (Kirchliche Arbeitsstelle Südliches Afrika), visited Namibia in September last year. He puts the BIG campaign and the political response under the heading: ‘BIG – wie weiter’ in perspective. Een overzicht van het Gegarandeerde Leefbare Inkomen ofwel Burgerinkomen, Basisinkomen, Sociaal Dividend, Gegarandeerd Jaarinkomen. Een transistie naar een leefbare planeet. De videos zijn alleen via youtube te bekijjken via het kanaal van @livable4all Het eerste filmpje gaat over wat het is, het tweede filmpje over wie allemaal in de geschiedenis voorstander waren van een Gegarandeerd Leefbaar Inkomen.

Er loopt een petitie om de leden van het Europese Parlement te laten inzien dat een Basisinkomen beter is dan volledige werkgelegenheid.

Een model voor de financiële stabiliteit van de staat en de economie in een sociaal statuut zoals het heden bestaat (Duitsland bijvoorbeeld). En hoe een onvoorwaardelijk basisinkomen [OBI/UBI] kan worden gerealiseerd. In deel 2 hoe consumptie-of inkomstenbelasting als geheel vervangen kan worden door een andere soort belasting. (meer…)

Een 13tal lezingen over het basisinkomen vanuit diverse bronnen van over de hele wereld. Zij zouden een ruwe schets moeten geven over het basisinkomen en mensen moeten uitnodigen hierover te gaan nadenken en zich te verdiepen in het onderwerp.

Het is geen compleet verhaal, maar wanneer meer mensen bekend worden met het idee van een Basisinkomen en gaan nadenken over de invloed die dat kan hebben op hun individuele leven en hun omgeving, hoe meer realistisch de implementatie van een Basisinkomen wordt. (meer…)
