1. Recent highlights of activities and events.
The first congress of the network was held 26th-27th March at Doshisha University, Kyoto. About 700 people gathered. Guy Standing from BIEN, Andrea Fumagalli from BIN-Italy, Gwang Eun Choi from Basic Income Korean Network came and gave solidarity remarks. Inside Japan, feminists, single mothers activists, the disabled activists, trade uinionists, people in NPOs, academics gave their voices.

The Basic Income Earth Network was founded in 1986 as the Basic Income European Network. It expanded its scope from Europe to the Earth in 2004.
